The Blue Zone


Ahah! What is 'the blue zone' ?
In most of the world, the prospect of living to age 100 sounds like a mixed blessing. While a long life is generally good, many people worry that it also equals diminished health and mental function. But that isn't so in the "blue zones."

In four hot spots around the globe, people live to 100 in great numbers. But it's not only about longevity—they live with strength, vitality and happiness. Residents of the blue zones regularly exercise, tend their gardens, are active members of their communities, eat delicious food and even have sex!


I watched it on Oprah today... hehe... yea... I sometimes do watch Oprah because it's quite interesting... Hi 5 Pastor Joe! xD... And I actually took down notes you know!!! So chun right?! So proud of myself... LOL...



Niconya Peninsula- Costa Rica
The oldest human being in that area is a 108 years old man!!! wow... and he has a daughter who is living with him which is 64 years old... They eat tortillas everyday which are home cooked and home grown and before the cooked it they soak the corn which is the main ingredient for the tortillas into their normal water. They say their water over there are high on CALCIUM and MAGNESIUM... LOL... Got such thing one ah?

And then later Dan Buettner (Author of The Blue Zone) and Dr. Oz visited a 99 year old man. That fella has muscles man... Pacs and all.. See his man's boobs... LOL... and he has lungs and a heart of a 44- 45 years old man...

Ways they live longer according to people who lives in Niconya Peninsula:
- Drink their water ( high calcium and magnesium)
- Have a light dinner everyday. Have a big meal in the morning and eating less food as you go on with your day.
- Have daily activies and not to sit at our lazy bumps
- Must have a social network... Go out or talk or hang out with friends...
- Must have Sun exposure everyday! ( at least 15 minutes a day)
- Find a sense of purpose... VERY IMPORTANT!!!




Sardinia, Italy
They have the highest amount of male who are 100 years old and above.
A 105 years old male who is a shepherd... A shepherd? what? yes indeed a shepherd... He takes bread, Pecorino cheese and WINE!!!

Ways they live longer according to people who lives in Sadinia:
- Eat food which contain high Omega 3

- Drink goat's milk! It's much better than cow's milk and it has less fats than cow's.
- Drink about 2 glasses of WINE everyday!!!
(now we know whatssup with *ahem* malays) and very importanly drink it with friends and not alone...
- Have a plant based diet and take less meat. Meat only for side dishes...
- Take a walk everyday
- Focus on family first

- LAUGH often! = )





Loma Linda, CA

The only blue spot in America... LOL... And most people living there are CHRISTIANS and goes to Seventh Day Adventure which is a church and everybody in there are vegeterian and do not take any process food too!!! awesome!
A 94 years old HEART SURGEON... O.o His a freaking surgeon and his vision is still so good! He does 10 hours of gardening a week. And although his a doctor he does not take any MEDICATIONS! wow... And he has done over 12ooo surgery in his life! And his qoute is ' Do not worry, let God do his work and I'll sit back and enjoy life'... And he say we must always have something to do everyday...

And a 104 years old lady who goes to the gym everyday... and she cycles 7- 8 miles and carries weight! And she says ' The world will not come to you, so you have get there youself...'

Ways they live longer according to people who lives in Loma Linda:
- Have a sacred time.
- Have a regular exercises
- Must always give back something... ( giving is receiving! )
- Take beans, nuts and fresh vegetable.





Oknawa, Japan
80% less cases of cancer than America... and the healthiest place in the world! They did not inteview anyone go I'll just go straight to the point... But there's a fella they show who is damn old and can do HEAD STAND! lol... damn pro...

Ways they live longer according to people who lives in Oknawa:
- Find a purpose (make life worth living)
- Plant a garden at home ( not just flowers but PLANTS which you can eat)
- And something they call in japanese MOAI which is a social support network
- Eat Toufu, vegetables and fish
- Stop eating when we're 80% full ( nara hachi bu )



Phew... finally I'm done... Longest post I ever did... So you wanna live longer... follow those steps... LOL! good luck on that!
